Why bother
Anyone can write “we care.” The process is the opposite of that: evidence, a constitutional change so directors have to consider people and place, then an independent review. How the process works is the mechanics. This page is the reason.
We already run the company as a family business from this town. Our Story is Fiona and Rogan — Nana’s shrub, then bubbles. The can is New Zealand honey and New Zealand apple cider vinegar. Fruit origin is on the flavour, not a blanket “NZ fruit” claim. B Corp does not replace that. It asks whether the rest of the business matches the label.
For us, the point was simple: if we talk about better soda, the company behind the soda should be willing to be measured.

Trade buyers who want the product, not the badge, still go to wholesale for NZ cafés and retailers.
What happens next
Certification is not permanent. We recertify on B Lab’s cycle — commonly every three years. Standards move. The next assessment is not a reprint of the first form.
