A flavour a long time coming.

I lost my mum — Nana Irene to the grandkids — to breast cancer.

On Saturday 28 March this year, I walked Hike for a Cure at Lake Hāwea Station with my mates Catherine and Steph. The Double Summit: 26 kilometres, 1,500 vertical metres, up Breast Peak, along the ridgeline, and on to the top of Breast Hill — alongside almost a thousand others raising money for Breast Cancer Cure.

Sidekick had already signed up to support the hike, planning to launch our Watermelon flavour alongside it. The flavour wasn't quite ready in time, so we did what we could — showing up with cans at both Hike for a Cure and Dine for a Cure, keeping everyone hydrated on and off the mountain.

Now the watermelon is ready — and BCC and Lake Hāwea Station (a Carbon Zero, B-Corp certified high-country farm) have given us a better way to put it to work: a pre-order that funds real breast cancer research back here in New Zealand.

When will my pack ship?
We'll ship as soon as production lands — within 4–6 weeks of your pre-order. We'll email tracking the day it leaves us.
How does the donation work?
For every 12-pack of Watermelon sold in New Zealand, we donate NZ$10 directly to Breast Cancer Cure — a registered NZ charity (CC11205) that funds breast cancer research. The donation is made by Sidekick from our revenue; it is not added on top of your order.
Is this available in the US?
This particular pre-order is for New Zealand only.
Can I get a tax receipt for the donation?
The $10 per 12-pack is part of the product price and is donated by Sidekick — it isn't a separate donation from you to BCC, so it isn't individually tax-deductible. If you'd like to donate directly to Breast Cancer Cure for a tax receipt, you can do so at breastcancercure.org.nz.
Can I donate directly to BCC instead of pre-ordering?
Yes — absolutely. If you're not drinking soda, can't get this pre-order shipped to you, or want to give a larger amount, donating directly to Breast Cancer Cure is the most effective path. Donations of $5+ are tax-deductible in New Zealand.
