Blackberries, mint, lemon, honey, and Cherry Sidekick over ice. Five ingredients. Five minutes. Alcohol-free as written.
This used to call for Plum Sidekick. That flavour is gone. Cherry is the closest match for blackberry — same honey-sweetened soda. Strawberry if you want it softer. The muddle, the mint, the photos: that is still this drink. Ingredients and method sit in the card below.
How to make it
Muddle the blackberries, mint, honey and lemon juice in a tall glass to release the fruit’s juices and colour. If the berries are frozen, thaw them slightly first. Strain into a glass of ice with a few whole blackberries. Top slowly with Cherry Sidekick Soda so it stays fizzy.
What it tastes like
Blackberry and mint first, then cherry soda and a little lemon. Bright, not syrupy.
Garnish and serve
Whole blackberries and mint. Freeze edible flowers and baby mint tips into ice the night before if you want to show off. A splash of gin or vodka takes it from afternoon to evening.
Made with Sidekick Cherry.
