ACV soda is a sparkling drink that includes apple cider vinegar. People search it when they want a soda with a sharper, drier finish than cane-sugar pop — or when they have heard of vinegar drinks and want one that still tastes like fruit soda.
Sidekick is an ACV soda in that sense: organic apple cider vinegar is in the can. It is a splash, not a shot. The drink is still a honey-sweetened fruit soda. It does not taste like pickle brine.
This is the short answer. Provenance and standards sit on Ingredients. Honey as the sweetener is what a honey-sweetened soda is.
What ACV is doing in the can
Apple cider vinegar is acidity. Classic soda often uses phosphoric acid for bite. Sidekick uses a splash of organic ACV instead — brightness and a clean finish, closer to lemon in a drink than to a vinegar burn.
Our vinegar is certified organic, from Nelson-region orchards. Full-strength acidity in the vinegar is 5.9–6.5% (seasonal). In the soda it is a small part of the recipe. You should not taste “vinegar soda.” Some people notice the kick more than others.
What it is not
It is not kombucha. Sidekick is not brewed or fermented in the can. ACV is an ingredient. Kombucha is a different fridge slot — honey soda vs diet soda vs kombucha.
It is not a wellness shot. Do not drink it as medicine. We put ACV in for taste: dry, grown-up, not syrupy. We do not sell it as a blood-sugar product or a gut-health tonic.
It is not a diet soda. Honey and fruit still sweeten it. No cane sugar, no stevia, no erythritol.
